I've decided to take a stab at starting a garden this year. We have a very small yard so I was going to do a container garden on our deck. I was wondering if it's better to order seeds and/or transplants from a website or get them from a local store? If I order off the web, what sites does you recommend? TIA!
Re: websites
If you're just starting out, I'd say it's better to go to a local store so you can see what you're getting, read the tags, and ask for help. Usually, local nurseries also specialize in your specific climate and soil type for your area.
Ordering online is cheaper, but it takes a long time for the plants to come in, and it takes a while for them to grow once you have them planted. I usually order from directgardening.com.
